Origin Ver. and Service Release: Origin Pro 8 SR0
Operating System: Windows Vista

Hi everyone, good Easter to all of you.
I've been doing SG smoothing for a while in Origin, but recently I've created a Virtual Instrument to do that (directly to measurement files) and I don't get the same results.
I noticed that in origin, "points of window" means all the points used in calculations (sometimes means "side points, the "p" in "2p+1", like in labview), am I right?, but this number should be odd (=2*p+1) and the origin slide allows even numbers.
Is it taking an asymmetric window?

Your understanding is right, "points of window" means all the points used in calculations.
Origin slide allows even numbers. However, the even number will be add 1 before calculation, and then a symmetric window is obtained.

Best regards,
