how can one have a symbol (e.g. a point for a radical, or a minus) as a superscript of reasonable size and position in a graph legend?
thanx for suggestions

You can increase or decrease the size of text in a label with the \pn(text) sequence, where n is a percent of the current size. (n=200 will double the size, n=50 will halve the size.) I've used this to increase the size of subscript symbols and it should work for superscripts as well. For example, say you have a text label with a superscripted minus sign and you want to double the size of the minus sign. When you right-click on the label and select properties you find that the superscript is written as "\+(-)". Changing it to "\+(\p200(-))" should double the size of the minus sign.

Hope that helps.
