Hi,
Could someone please tell me how to deactivate the hiding of some items in the menus? For example, when I click on "View" or "Plot", I just see a few random entries, and to see all entries I have to click on a double arrow in a circle at the bottom end of the menu. This is in basically all menus.
This new "feature" is a big waste of time, please help me get rid of this nonsense!
Thank you, Philip |

Dear Sean,
thank you so much, its gone now.
But I cant help to comment that this feature and its implementation is a failure. Some may find it helpful, fine, but clearly such an annoying modification should have a clearly visible and simple way of switching it off. Really, I have to modify a cryptic system variable? How about a button or checkbox in one of the settings tabs? How about one of the ubiquitous yellow info boxes when you hover with the mouse over these double arrows linking to that setting tab?
I personally find this feature totally annoying. I like origin BECAUSE of its multiple features. If I had only two or three types of plots, I would write a Matlab script and be much faster. With Origin, I want to explore different ways to represent my data, to find the best way to plot this or let the software surprise me with different ways to visualize my data. That is totally undermined by this collapsible menu nonsense. I ended up pressing this button ALL the time.
Yours, Philip |

Hi Philip,
Thanks for your suggestion! I will bring up it to our weekly share meeting and we will take care of it at our earliest possible time.
Best regards!
