Hi All i am very new to the software and being assign with a sophisticated summation equation. I want to analyze the surface form by knowing the polynomial x,y value and the surface color mapping.
Here is the equation:
z= (c((x^2)+(y^2)))/(1+sqrt((1-((1+k)(c^2)((x^2)+(y^2))))+ 66Σj=2 Cj (x^m)(Y^n)
j=(((m+n)^2)+m+3n)/2+1
C=1/radius
K=0
Please advise,Thanks |

Hi,
How are you going to analyze the surface form? Do you mean you already have x, y, z values of the surface and want to estimate the value of m, n and radius?
If so, you can define your fitting function and then fit your surface with it.
You can look at the tutorial below for creating a user defined function http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/UserDef-FitFunc
But what you need is to have z as dependent variable and x, y as independent variables.
And to make the function available in the Surface fitting dialog, please put the function under category Surface Fitting instead of User Defined
And you can also refer to the tutorial below for defining a function with summation http://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/Fitting-Summation

Hi Ehco,Thank you for the reply. Yes i have the surface in xyz file, I want to see the difference between my measured C and Cj value with reference to the design value to find out the form error, but i dont know how to put the equation into origin C.Which sentence i should amend on the example? |
