 Fitting a broad peak and get area under the peak

Hello Friends,
I have not used much Origin. I am having a task where my data represent a peak. I need to make a weighted fit [Lorentz peak] and get the fitted parameters with uncertainties. At the end of the fit I wish to have area under that peak with uncertainty.

I have tried to choose the "include integration" while defining my user function in Fitting function builder, but when I try to fit peak it says there is problem in your weight. I choose the weight to be instrumental type but still problem persist.

Please help me.

Hi ykgupta,

I'm not sure why you wanted to define the user-defined Lorentzian function, instead of using the built-in Lorentz fit function. You can simply run "Analysis: Fitting: Single Peak Fit" menu. In the fit result sheet, each estimated parameter will be always reported with its standard error, or you can make a confidence band with the option in the curve fitting tool; and Lorentz fit function's parameter "A" is the area of the curve (excluding the bias part). "Include Integration During Fit" check box can be used when your own function to be defined contains the integral in the formula, and irrelevant to whether the fit result includes the integration result, or not.
