Is it possible to modify SGompertz function in Origin. Basic equation of Gompertz in Origin is y = a*exp(-exp(-k*(x-xc))). I need to modify this to Y = a*exp(-exp(((R*e)/a)*(λ-t)+1)). Looking forward to a kind reply
Hey Malickfiaz- This should be possible using the "Fitting Function Organizer" in Tools (or by pressing F9). Once you've opened this window, open the Growth/Sigmoidal folder and select the SGompertz function.
Now, in order to modify it to your specifications you'll need to click on the "Duplicate" button on the right side of the screen. This will make a copy of SGompertz in the same folder. From there the "Function" input should no longer be grayed out and you can alter your independent and dependent variables, as well as your parameters. You can then test your equation using the "Simulate" button which should tell you whether or not the syntax is correct. Let us know if you need any help troubleshooting those last couple of steps! Best of luck!

Dear Lefebvre, Thank you for your kind and prompt reply. I tried but couldn't understand :(. Could you help regarding this. Y = a*exp(-exp(((R*e)/a)*(λ-t)+1)) In this equation, Y is dependent variable, while a is an independent vaiable. I didn't get an idea how to manipulate with parameters; R [maximum production rate mL/hour], λ [lag phase (days or hours)], e [constant (2.71828)] while t is [time of cultivation (hours)] Here I am sending you screenshots
