 the definition of parameter's error

I fit the function y=ax to get the parameter

a = 5.72 +/- 0.03.
reduced chi^2 = 1.03

But I saw some book say 0.03 = (parameter's error)*sqrt(reduced chi^2)
just for conservative.

I don't know if origin use this definition above or I want to know the definition of "parameter's standard error" in origin.

Hi,

In Origin, there is a control in NLFit dialog for this. See the screenshot below:


When there is no weighting, this check box will be checked and grayed by default. In opposite, when weighting exists, this check box can be checked and unchecked for your own needs. More details, please refer to the help page below:
