Hi everyone,

Can someone please help me with the topic "labeling" using origin. I have a volcano plot containing 5000 data points and i would like to point out to 40 of them. I tried options under label but non seem to help me point out to my data points of interest as all options lead me to massive and overcrowded plot containing basically everything! I am using originPro 9.1

Any recommendations? I would really appreciate fast response :)

Thanks!

tima

Hi,

Is your volcano plot a 2D graph? Origin 2017 has a “Show at Specified indices Only” option which can let you show labels at specified points only.

However, this option is not supported in Origin 9.1. Please try it in our demo:

Thanks,

Alternatively, you can create a specific column in which you will copy the values you want to show (keep the same rows than original column).
In Plot Details/Label tab, select that column in the Label Form dropdown list.
