Hi,

I used origin pro evaluation. I have multiple curve (DSC, Raman, XRD) contain multiple peaks. How can I remove extra peaks and make sharper another peaks?

Hi,

If you want to remove extra peaks, you can try to subtract a baseline in Peak Analyzer:
1. Select Analysis: Peak Analyzer: Open dialog from Origin menu to bring up the dialog.
2. Select Subtract Baseline in Goal item, and then click Next button
3. Select User Defined from the drop-down list of Baseline Mode
4. Clear the check of Enable Auto Find, and enter the number of points as you desired in the Number of Points to Find textbox
5. Click Find button, and then click Modify/Del button
6. Move the points to mark the line you want to subtract, and then click Done button return to Peak Analyzer dialog

7. Click Next button, you will see the baseline
8. Click Next button, and the click Subtract button and Finish button in turn.
A related tutorial can be found here:

If you want to sharpen peaks, you can try an App: Fourier Self-Deconvolution:

Hope it helps.

Hi, Thank you Yuki for your reply. If I had multiple curve I should do "subtract baseline seperatly for each of them and how can I put the new curve in one chart?

Thank you so much
Mina

Hi,

Do you mean some technique such as this, to sharpen peaks?
https://terpconnect.umd.edu/~toh/spectrum/ResolutionEnhancement.html?

If yes, it can be done with some simple column calculations, or we can also create an App.

Hi Mina,

At Step8 I mentioned, you can specify the output range of the curve data and the baseline data. After you finish subtracting baseline, you can go and find the new data to replot a new graph.
