Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 Operating System: Win XP Pro
Hi, everybody -- I have a logarithmic graph here. The values of the major x-axis ticks are 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, and 1. If I set the Decimal value for their display at 3, the 1 shows up as "1.000". If I set it at anything less, the 0.001 shows up as essentially zero. So, I reset the format to scientific, which is good, but then the 1 shows up as 10^0. So, I left everything in scientific notation and used the Special Ticks option in the Custom Ticks dialog to set the value at the end of the axis to "1". (I AM getting the hang of this...) Everything is now nice and happy except for one thing: apparently the software is set to align the tops of the tick labels a constant distance from the axis; this means that the exponential labels are aligned with the exponents at the same distance from the axis as the top of the "1". So, the bottom line (which is where I WISH they'd align!) is this: the tops of all the tick labels are in a nice line equidistant from the x-axis, but because some of them are in exponential notation, the base of the 1 doesn't align with the bases of the 10's in the exponential labels. (Hope that makes sense.) The question: Is there a way to align the tick labels so they're all on the same baseline (not topline), as they should be?
Thanks for your time!

Hi Mark,
For the special tick label at the end of the axis, enter 1\+() instead of just 1. This will create a dummy/empty superscript for the 1 and thus allign it same as the 10^n values of the other tick labels.
