Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 SR1
Operating System: WinXP

Is Origin able to do complex nonlinar fitting on functions of complex numbers?

If yes, could one explain me how does it work?

With a little work you can do nonlinear fitting on a function of complex numbers:

Assume your function is in the form of y = f(z), in which, the independent variable z = a + bi;

Convert the function to: y = g(a, b), so you have two indepents a, b;

Don't know how to fit a function with multiple independents? Please check:

Dear Leo,

Yes, this is a possibility and thank you for the link, but some functions of us are not easy-to-convert ones.

For example Z(w) = P0 +(P1/(iw)^(1/2))coth[P3(iw)^(1/2)]
+(P2/(iw)^(1/2))tanh[P3(iw)^1/2]

Has somebody any other idea?
