Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5P
Operating System: W2k
I noticed that the following two ways of checking for an existing worksheet don't give the same result:
1)
j=exist(%h); type $(j);
output: 2
2)
%t=%h; j=exist(%t); type $(j);
output: 0
Only the use of %h in 1) works as expected. Version 2) doesn't work as expected.
WHY is this?

Strange!
It looks like I had a hang of Origin.
Now, after restarting Origin, it works.
