Hi,I have a lot of spectroscopy data that I plot up in origin and I had a series of references for helping to identify what the data means.
Generally the original equipment used to obtain the data has software which calls up these references and puts lines or indicators up for each item. Is there a way to build your own database, call up a database as needed and quickly add / remove overlays for identifying everything?
The type of data this is for is x-ray diffraction analysis. I am essentially trying to utilize origin lab in a similar fashion as to how a software like Jade or high score can let you choose a file which when selected overlays a thin bar at the peak position with some relative intensity value.
Thank you for any help. I tried looking for this as I am sure someone else has already done this before, I just did not know what keywords to use. |

Hi,
Origin doesn't have the database to analyze the XRD curve on the components.
If you have the data for the "references", Origin can plot them together to help you analyze the peaks and its corresponding substances, just as the graph below:

Please let me know if any problem.
Thanks, Shirley OriginLab

Hi Shirley,
I fully understand that origin cannot do the analysis itself, that is what I do. What I am looking for in particular is whether we can make a file which contains a database of pdfs (or rather tables that I insert for known XRD peak / intensity profiles) and be able to call up that database and overlay the different pdfs as I select them. I figure this will involve script writing and what not, I just want to know what is possible. If someone is calling up hundreds of data and pattern, it becomes quite cumbersome to do it individually in originlab alone. I am trying to avoid having to create a file with all the possible patterns everytime I have a new XRD file to analyze.
This is more about giving people who do not have access to Jade or an equivalent software the ability to analyze more easily their data as they can easily view the data with the whole pattern of known pdfcards. |
