Origin Ver. and Service Release: 9.1 Pro SR1
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit

I can't use the color palette editor app, as it requires 9.4, so is there a way for me to create additional color palette for maps?

1) can additional palettes be generated and dropped in a folder (which) of the Origin installation?
2) what is the file format of color palette?

I have visited the page (where I found the link to the app), but this only describes the built-in tool to design palette ab-initio. I am curious to know whether a user can design a palette using their own external tools and drop it as a file in some folder of the OriginLab distribution. And if so, what the file format is.

Edit: never mind, I found out about the Microsoft .PAL file format after some Googling:

Yes. You can put the .pal file under User Files Folder (menu Help -> Open Folder -> User Files Folder), then you will be able to use it in Origin.
