Origin Ver. and Service Release: OriginPro2018 SR1
Operating System: Windows 7
Dear Users,
I have two workbooks contain different data and I want to draw both of the workbooks on the same contour with color fill? is that possible? if it possible what the steps to do that?

Hi Bakr,
The simplest way could be draw two contour plots separately, then go to menu Graph->Merge Graphs... to merge the two graphs. Is this what you expected? Thank you.

Dear James,
Many thanks for the reply. I draw two contours as you recommended and I tried to merge them on one contour using Graph->Merge Graphs but the contours never plotted in one contour they appeared one on the top of page and the other on the bottom as shown on the picture below:

Hi,
In Merge Graph dialog, you need to set number of Rows/Columns to 1. If you are running Origin 2020, you can simply copy contour from one page using Mini Tool Bar and go to another contour plot and use Ctrl+P to paste. See below:

I set the number of Rows/Columns to 1. At the new graph just one contour appeared and the second disappeared? see images below, please

You can double click on the contour and then set transparency for each layer to show both.
Otherwise you will have to combine your data and make one single contour. Please send your project file to <tech@originlab.com> for us to help you further.

Honestly, I just have a single data sheet and two contour plots. What I did is I duplicate the main contour graph which contain two positive eddies as below:
I am aiming to make the values of the eddy located to the right as negative values, hence on the first graph I deleted the eddy to the right while on the second I deleted the eddy to the left and make the values of the right eddy as negativ using the facility of divide by factor -1. So is this procedure correct and the graphs can be merge with it? |

I would change the cell values in the worksheet, multiply the cell values by -1 for x > c, where c defines the boundary of two eddies. Then make just a contour graph from the modified worksheet.

Many thanks for the interesting information. But how I can know from which value of c the boundary of the eddies starts in order I multiplied it by -1?

How to plot two workbooks data in same contour
