Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 2019b (64-bit) 9.6.5.169
Operating System: W7 Pro x64 SP1
Greetings!
I have several tens of line plots in the same graph window and I want to automate line coloring in such a way that each plot would have its own contrast color. At https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Customize-PlotColor I found that I can set plots to vary color BY PLOTS. However, I don't see the "By Plots" tab in the line settings.
Do I miss something?
Thank you. |

Hi AKazak,
You might need group these plots together and then you can go to the Line Tab to apply the color list "by Plots":
To group the plots easily:
With the graph activated, expand the Object Manager to right-click on the last plot to select "Set as Group End" to group all plots together.
Thanks, Shirley

Thank you for the suggestion. How do I activate a plot using mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts? Is Set as Active context menu is the only option for activating plots?

Hi,
in your version and later of Origin, you can single-click on a plot to activate it. you may observe the other plots in the layer dimming out.
To confirm the active plot, you can open the "Data" emny and you will see the plots listed at the bottom of the menu with the active one indicated by a check mark.
I hope this helps!

Dear Chris, In my case, a single click on a plot does not activate it. Please see the plot 04 stays active (04 is highlighted with bold font) despite mouse clicks on different plots:

My experiments show that it is not possible to activate a plot using left mouse clicks. Can you confirm this? |

The behavior was fixed in OriginPro 2020b (64-bit) 9.7.5.184.
