Hi Akazak,
Are you using Import Wizard to import data from the clipboard? If so, maybe you can use the "last used filter" to apply the previous column designation on current data import.
If this doesn't help any, please tell us more details about your user story.
Thanks, Shirley

Dear Shirley,
I copy from an Excel spreadsheet and paste to Origin via Windows clipboard. Please notice a change in column В designation change to X:

Hi AKazak,
It seems I am not able to reproduce the problem here. Would you please send us the project file and Excel file to let us check the details here, via tech@originlab.com?

Hi Akazak,
This is caused by the output setting--set the output as (<input>,<new>) will overwrite the col(B).
Please just set the output to <new> to output the X and y to another two new columns.
Of course, just as you suggested, we will consider to make the "Plot Derivative Curve" toggle the X output. After all, when you want to create the derivative plot, Output X is necessary.
Thanks, Shirley
