Is there any way to instruct Origin to automate the fitting process such that different functional forms are fitted? If the fitting statistics were fed back into the system to inform the next fit, in an attempt to find the optimal fit automatically, that would be better, but even if those fitting statistics were just reported to the user then that would be enough.

With some of my data I am not sure what functional form may be optimal and manually trying many different functions is inefficient.

Origin Ver. and Service Release: OriginPro 2020 (64-bit) SR1
9.7.0.188 (Academic)

Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise

Perhaps the "Rank Models" App may help. It allows you to select a number of fitting functions to fit your dataset to and reports back the best fitting model for the dataset among the ones you have chosen. See:

I hope this helps.
