Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin2018Pro
Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise

Hello, community,

in the 1st attached picture, you can see a worksheet with 2 marked
columns.

In the first column A, there are the numbers 2,4,5, and 6.
In column B you can see values that are related to that numbers.
I want to create a function that sums up all values of the second
column if the same number appears in column A. The result should
be summarised in a new sheet that I already created with
Statistics/Descriptive Statistics/Discrete Frequency.
See therefore the second picture.

Best wishe,
Locardas !

Hi,

Please try Statistics on Column. That is,

1. Highlight col(B), right click and select Statistics on Columns.
2. Set dialog as below:
* Group = col(A)
* Check Sum

You will get want you want in the report table. If you want the results in a flat sheet, you can choose to “Create copy as new sheet”.

Thanks,
Amanda

You can also do Analysis: Data Manipulation: Reduce by Duplicate X Data, which can output mean, sum, and many common stats.

Thanks, Snow
