OriginPro 2021 (64-bit) 9.8.0.200 (Academic)
Windows 10 Enterprise

Hi all,

I have noticed that in my recent plots of linear regressions, where I choose a dashed line to show the dataset, there is ALWAYS a sole longer dash along the line, which is extremely annoying (see images attached). I have recently changed my computer and installed Origin, so maybe there is something to do with that. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Gustavo

Hello Gustavo,

Is the line created by linear fit?
Did u made the line width thicker?

This may show on screen display only. Could you check if the exported graph is fine?

Thanks, Snow

Hi @snowli,

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the lines were created by linear fit.

Yes, I usually increase the thickness of my lines.

The images that I have attached ARE exported images (TIFF), that's the issue.

Best regards,

Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,
We have jiraed the issue in ORG-23997 for our developer to check.

For now, maybe in LR dialog, u can check if go to Fitted Curves Plot tab, change number of Points under X Data Type will help. Right now we general 1000 points. When I changed to less, it seems better.

Also maybe u can go to Preferences: Options. On Graph tab, adjust Dash definition to see if it works better for your data. U need to refresh graph after changing it. So it's a lot of error and trial.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best,
Snow

Hi snowli,

Solution 1 solved the issue. I reduced the number of points to 500 and I cannot see the problem anymore.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Gustavo

Thank you for brining this up.

It's really unnecessary to have so many points for linear fit result. We will reduce it in future version ORG-23998.

Thanks, Snow
