Currently you have to crop the image outside Origin. In our next version 2022, we will support crop image within Origin.

In current version, u can also try crop by
With Matrix window active, choose Data: import from File: Image to Matrix...
Then use the rectangle tool on left side of Origin workspace to draw shape.
Right click on it to crop.

We have two releases per year. E.g. Origin 2022 will be released in Oct. and 2022b in Apr.

Is external image cropping a feature to be added in next version of Origin? If yes, when is the new version going to be installed?

Hi Neena,
Yes, it will be in Origin 2022. It's postponed to release in mid Nov. and we are still working on it.
