OriginPro 2022 (64-bit) SR1 9.9.0.225
Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

Greetings!

Please look at the following example project:
https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/Column%20Plot%20Glitch.opju

I expect bars to be colored in red, but almost all the plot is black.

Is this a bug?

Thank you.

Hi Andrey,

You can set your border color to red as well and it should fix your issue.

Can you also try make scatter plot and add dropline. See the attached project.

https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/Column%20Plot%20Glitch%20Test.opju

Basically use scatter plot, set symbol size to 0 and add droplines. This will be closer to the column plot bar thickness.

You do not have to use scatter type plot.

You can still use Column plot, and go to Display tab, uncheck "Bar", check "Drop Lines".

Go to Drop Lines tab, change the Color to be the desirable one, tweak the Width value as you need, click OK.

For such dense "column", using dropline seems a more efficient way.

I hide bars and turned on drop lines.
The plot now looks better.
Is there a way to set drop line colors via group settings?

By the way, when using drop lines both Data Reader and Data Cursor tools show the odd behavior such sticking to a single point and mouse cursor gravitation to that same point.
Can you check this, please?

What do you mean about group?

The sample opju is a single plot only.

If you mean coloring by point, you can temporarily turn on symbol first, set By Points option, and set Drop Line Color as "Auto" (follow symbol colors).

As to the Data Reader/Cursor issue, we will look (ORG-25091).

Dear Amanda,
Unfortunately I do not confirm that the issue has been fixed in:
OriginPro 2022b (64-bit) SR1 9.9.5.167
Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

Data Reader and Data Cursor still stick to the middle bottom of the plot.
