OriginPro 2022b (64-bit) SR1 9.9.5.167
Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

Greetings!

I need to select multiple columns based on a condition.
Can Worksheet Query help me doing this?
If negative, then what Origin tool can I use?

Thank you.

Dear Cecilia,

It works, but how can I set more sophisticated conditions similar to Worksheet Query?

Hi Andrey,
Could you provide your user story about "more sophisticated conditions" to select columns? Then we can check how to improve Select dialog.

Thanks
Cecilia

Dear Cecilia,
Example 1: I need to remove columns with a condition on a value in 10-th row.
Example 2: I need to remove columns with a condition on an integral value (sum, mean, etc.) of the column.
Example 3: I need to remove columns with a condition on presence of masked cells.
Example 4: I need to remove columns with a condition on number of masked cells.

Hi Andrey,
We have a similar requirement to hide columns base on a value in N-th row, so I update your case in that jira(ORG-20565) too.

Currently this Select dialog is quite simple, we may not want to complicate it with condition like worksheet query. For your example 2~4, I think you can add user parameter with formula first.
1. remove columns with a condition on an integral value (sum, mean, etc.) of the column. -- You can add Sum Mean label row with user parameter dialog. Then select dialog could select column base on sum or mean of column and delete.
2. remove columns with a condition on presence of masked cells or number of masked cells. -- You can add user parameter with formula =ismasked(0,This). Then this label row will show number of masked cell in each column. Then select dialog could select column base on this label row and delete.

Thanks
Cecilia

Dear Cecilia,

Got it.
Hope to test the improved version of the Select dialog.
