OriginPro 2023 (64-bit) 10.0.0.154
Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

Greetings!

I have a large text file and want to import each line to a single cell without any separation to columns. A1 should hold 1st text line from the input file and so on.

I tried to use Data | Connect to File and Data | Import from File, but these tools tend to perform column separation by default, at least I couldn't disable it.

Can you help me achieving the goal, please?

Thank you.

As a work around, you can use Import Wizard to import the file (the tool allows setting delimiter) and create an import filter file. Then you can go to menu Data:Connect to File:Import Filter.. and connect to the file using the saved filter. Thank you.

Dear James,

I tried, but if I see the Delimiter to nothing Origin still separates the content by columns in preview window...
Can you share a screenshot of the import filter settings, please?

Andrey, can you clarify what you mean by "specify the effective codepage for text import" ?
