Hello,
I managed to set the layer´s dimensions in the Theme Organizer using Root -> Page -> All layers -> Dimension. However, when the graph is exported, the size of the whole graph is critical. It can be set manually via double-clicking at the white space of the graph. I want to set it by default to the correct size. I don´t find the option in the theme organizer. Where can I find the option to set the graph´s dimension in the theme organizer? Thank you!

Edit:
Please tell me how to set the symbol size by default, too!

Hi,
if you want to set default page size and symbol size for one plot type only, then you can just set page size and symbol size in Plot Details dialog, and then select File: save template as to save a template for next use.

If you want to change default page size and symbol size for all graphs created by Origin, you need to set it in system theme. In Theme Organizer dialog, find the system theme(bold text), edit this theme.
  • To edit page size, right click Page tree node, select Add: Dimension, right click Dimension tree node, select Add: Width and Height. Then change the values.
  • To edit symbol size, right click Global tree node, select Add: Symbol Size(need to scroll down in fly-out and select 1st symbol size item). Then set the value.

Then you can save this theme. Note some templates may not affect by system theme, since they do not select Allow System Theme & System Increment Lists to Override checkbox when save template.

Thanks
Cecilia

Just FYI, in File: Export Graph (Advanced)..., you can also set image size, and save all export dialog setting as a dialog theme file. (click > next to Dialog Theme on the top of the dialog).

In the future, u can choose File: Export Graph (Advanced): <themename> to export the graph without need to open the dialog.
Or File: Recent Export: <themename>

Thanks, Snow

That´s also good to know, thank you, snowli.

Would you mind also telling me how to set the Line thickness by default? I did not find this setting in the Theme organizer. I manually double click onto an axis, go to "Line and Ticks" and set the "Thickness" at "Line".

I tried to add "Global Line Width" at the "Global" setting in the Theme organizer but this did not work. Thanks again!

It should work,

See https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/LightGrid_line_thickness.zip

I edited the built-in Light Grids theme by adding Global Line Width.
Make sure you set the theme as system theme (bold).
If it's not working for user-defined graph template,
right click the graph template and choose Save Template As.
Make sure "Allow System Theme & System Increment Lists to Override" is checked

Otherwise, when plotting with user defined template, system theme will not be applied automatically.

Thanks, Snow
