Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin 2023 10.0.0.154 (Academic)
Operating System: Windows 10

I have this worksheet in XYYXYY column designation to build a scatter graph showing two datasets.

When I select bubble graph, it looks like this, which is appropriate

Plot setup displays that it knows which column corresponds to the x, y and size of each datapoint.

I made a second worksheet with the same XYYXYY column designation…

Which ought to look like this…

But when I try to use Plot Setup > Auto Apply Designations for Book2, that step does not see that there are two different datasets each with unique sets of XYY. It thinks there is one X column and 4 Y columns.

Does anyone know how to make it so “Auto Apply Designations” will recognize the column designations set by the Right-Click > Set As > Custom option? I have already checked this link: https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/WksCol-SetDesignation and this link https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/PS-Dialog-Middle but it has not helped me.

Hello Calderod,

At first look, it appears this is a bug. I have created ORG-30778 Auto-Apply Designations to address this issue with the developers.

Thank you for your post.

Best,

Nicholas G.
