Origin 2026
I have multiple datasets that represent the same hiking trail. I would like to average or smooth this data to get one dataset for that trail. The data includes Longitude, Latitude and Elevation (XYZ).
Can Origin do this?

There is no hope!
(But I may be wrong.)

Hello,

The trail data are mismatched so they can't be averaged by indices since you would be averaging data at different locations.
E.g. Sheet1 has 1429 data points and Sheet2 has 221 which is probably due to differences in walking speed, sampling rate, etc.

If you want a rough calculation of the average, you can use Analysis: Mathematics: Interpolate Z from XY and interpolate based on Trail 1's lon/lat, for example. Once you've interpolated from a common set of points, you can get average by indices.

The final averaged dataset would be (colA, colB, colL).

Best,
Chao
