Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2024 PRO Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
I have the following problem. In my project, I used linear fitting and added tables containing data (statistical parameters) to the charts. I modified these tables and then closed them using the UPDATE TABLE button and by pressing the arrow in the upper right corner. Unfortunately, every time I open the project, these tables are in edit mode. This is quite annoying—is there a way to close them so they don’t appear when the file opens?

Kind regards, Dominik |

Hello,
I couldn't reproduce it in Origin 2024, if i clicked Update Table button and also the "return arrow" and then saved and reopened a opju.
There are many graph windows and tables in your opju.
Every time the "Update Table" button is clicked, the corresponding graph window was brought up to the front so user can see the effect. Maybe it happened that the graph blocks the table So you didn't get a chance to click the "return arrow".
And because the table isn't actually returned (by the arrow button on upper-right), when reopen the dialog, all such "unclosed table" shows on the front.
Thanks, Snow

Hi, I think that it may be this case...
However, i noticed that one table has not the arrow and I cannot "close" it.

From image, the table without "return arrow" also shows in Project Explorer. We have changed it several versions ago so that table in graph will not show in Project Explorer. E.g. either table created by fitting on graph or by Insert: Table...
Could it be an isolated table? If you change some cell value in the table without "return arrow" and click Update Table button, does it really update some table in graph?
I noticed that if i double click a table in graph, then click Duplicate button to duplicate it, an isolated table window will be created without "return arrow" and show in PE. When I modify cell and update Table, it does nothing.
If you can find some stable way to reproduce it, please let me know.
Thanks, Snow |

No, modifying the table content does not affect the graph.

You are probably right. I must have duplicated the table by mistake.
Thank you.

Hi Dominik,
I agree with you that it's confusing to see so many intermediate tables when reopening an opju.
I created ORG-33318 for closing all intermediate tables when reopening opju.
Thanks, Snow |

Hi Snow,
Great news! Thank you. If I may make a suggestion, I would close the tables when the file is closed. However, you need to remember to handle changes to the table. If a user has made changes but hasn’t committed them (Update table), the program should ask if they want to apply them. It seems to me that such a mechanism would work at the level of detecting “changes to the project” (a project requiring saving with an asterisk in the name on the title bar), but I’m not sure, so I’m just suggesting it.
Kind regards, Dominik |
