Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 SR6
Operating System: WIN XP

Recently Origin has been crashing my computer by working the cpu into the ground with indefinate 100% CPU usage.

I have tracked the source of this problem to some random worksheets. If I delete them the CPU usage returns to normal. These worksheets are nothing special. They have been entered by copying columns of values from a text file, and are not large, being something like 8x20 (columns x rows).

Further to this I have noticed that some of the worksheets become corrupted (for want of a better word) with time. For example, I had a project file with a mulfunctioning worksheet which I fixed by deleting it, opening a new worksheet and entering the data again from the text file. This worked for about a day (less than 24 hours). The project became corrupted again and this time 5 worksheets needed to be deleted (although this did not include the one I already fixed).

If required I have a project file containing a single worksheet which causes this problem.

Cheers, Mathieu

Hi Mathieu:

We can not make sure what cause the problem, but you can try:

1. Scan your computer by some antivirus software.
2. Reinstall Origin and delete the local settings.
3. Send your OPJ to tech@originlab.com and we can have a look on it.

Scan your computer with a good antivirus like Kaspersky. It scans each file individually includes the system support files. If there's a malware it can be removed. Follow https://supportantivirus.org/k7-antivirus-customer-support/ for more information and support.
