Hello everyone,
I am a beginner with Origin 6.0. What I want to do is to transfer the AutoCAD data to Origin. The AutoCAD data could be saved as the following data: *.wmf, *.sat, *.stl, *.eps, *.dxx, *.bmp, *.3ds, *.dwg, *.dxf.
But none of them fits for the data which can be imported to the Origin.
Could you give me some advice to solve the problem? What I want is only to get the structure from AutoCAD and show it on Origin.
For example: I draw the rectangle in AutoCAD and transfer the data to Origin so that I could get the same structure in Origin.
Thank you!

In Origin 6.1 or higher you can Import Image (*.bmp or *.wmf) to a matrix, but that's not available in Origin 6.0. If you just want to show the image in Origin then copy from AutoCAD or a graphics program and paste to a graph, layout or worksheet window. Otherwise you can digitize a printout of the image with this Origin addon...

I have tried with Origin 6.1 to Import Image (*.bmp and *.wmf)to a matrix. It works, but all the elements in the matrix are 0. Could you give me some more advice about it?
Thank you. Kist-europe |

If the figure is B&W then I suspect that the matrix cells are 0 or 255, not all 0. I have no problem importing *.bmp or *.wmf to O61.

Thanks for your answer. And do you think it is possible that I draw a circle in AutoCAD and save as *.wmf. And then I import it to Origin 6.0 to get coordinates of the points which are on the circle? Because later I would put other pattern on this structure(circle). So I need a reference point to make the Structure and Pattern together. That is why I want to get the coordinates points of the circle.

I think you mean Origin 6.1 but am still not sure what you mean. You've probably already noticed that there is no good way to visualize a matrix in Origin 6.1 so I don't see how importing as *.wmf will help.
