For the introduction of wind rose, please see http://www.originlab.com/www/products/GraphGallery.aspx?GID=26&s=8&lm=215.
Now, I use a data with one Y column to show you how to plot the wind rose graph.

Since the date with theta as X and r as Y, so Polar theta(X) r(Y) should be used.
  • Use the menu item: Plot> Speciallized> Polar theta(X) r(Y) and open the Plot Setup dialog.
What's more, if your dataset is using r as its X and theta as Y, Polar r(X) theta(Y) should be used.

  • Select column A as theta and column B as r.
Click the Show Plot list button, which is at the rightdown corner of this dialog. And click the Add button.
Choose Column/Bar in the Plot Type dialog box. And click OK to close this dialog.

  • The wind rose graph will be ploted. And you can change the Pattern as well as Spacing by double-clicking the graph to open the Plot Detail dialog.

While if your dataset has two Y columns, similar steps can be used. While I am sorry to say that there is a bug in Origin 8. When you want to stack your dataset and use Graph> Offset Grouped data in Layer> Cumulative, it isn't work, but we will fix it soon.

Thanks
Fay
