Origin Version (7G SR1 v7.0303):
Operating System: Windows Vista or XP (does not make difference)

Hello everyone,

I have a very annoying problem when fitting curves to my data.

First, I fit any kind of function (predefined or my own ones) to my data using the 'Advanced Fit'. Well, and everything works fine. Each time I click on the interations buttons, the curve evolves a bit and finally looks nice. Means Origin shows a nice, smooth fit curve in the preview.

Now, I click on 'done' in the Advanced fit window ... AND my nice, smooth curve is eigther GONE or looks very ugly, only consisting of a few straight lines with a lot of edges. The results from the fit are correctly displayed in the window that automatically appears.

It does not happen every time I use origin to fit.
HELP! It does happen to my colleagues, too, but noone has found a solution so far.

Best regards, Tina

Select Scripts:After Fit. What is your "Generate Fit Curve" setting? A uniform X of 60 points is the default when iterating, but if you have Same X as Fitting and you have few X data points, when you click Done, your curve may not be as smooth.

If I rescale the graph and have a closer look at the generated worksheet, I realize that the curve is totally wrong:

The experimental data is the black rectangle at top left, and the fit curve changed to a horizontal line at -22.07 with a *huge* range for the X axis that doesn't even match the X range in the worksheet NLSF1 (from 350 to 1100, like it should).
I really don't get it.

Hey again ^^

This problem has been discussed here http://originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5815 already. If I use "Same X as Fitting", it indeed works.
