I have just upgraded to Origin v4.1 and found that 32 bit version doesn't support OLE2, which is required for a Copy Page to allow a Paste Link in another application. This feature is very essential for documents like thesis or camera-ready papers. On other hand, we do need 32 bit version to manage large amount of data. Could anybody from the MicroCal development team comment, please, on the release date of the next upgrade or patch, which will include OLE support??
Origin 4.1 only supports OLE 1.0. Unfortunately Win32, which is what the 32 bit Origin is based on, does not support OLE 1.0, which means that 32 bit applications will have to support OLE 2 or no OLE at all. We are currently working on the next version of Origin that will provide OLE 2 support, and we expect to release this version in the first half of 97.
