Hi guys:

I tried to update Origin 8 from sr4 to sr5. After waiting for downloading the patch about 30~60 minutes, I got the below error. I think it may not be the network problem, since I tried both at home and in my office. Then I check the 'Updates' folder in origin .exe folder and C:\Documents and Settings\Larry\Local Settings\Temp\~otfFZMX\updates\, nothing there. And Ideas?

Hi Larry,

The Error 21 code means that something broke the connection between the local computer and the Web Service. It could be caused by just about anything:
Example: bad router somewhere, a local cable, crash on the web server, etc.

I would recommend trying again later today or tomorrow.

Hi Melanie:

I just tried again and again and failed. Actually, I keep getting this error from yesterday. Just now, even though I just updated the smallest file, 80sr5 E Tutorial.chm, which is 2.5M, still failed.

Then I visited the OriginLab public ftp side and download the Recalculation.swf in /pub/USERS/ folder, by IE. This file is 7.7M and I can download it smoothly.

When downloading the patches, I can see the process bar goes. But after several minutes, it pop me the error. I have closed all anti-virus and firewall. And I have talked with Olive today and get no clue :(

Curious is, I even cannot see the update files list after checking for update, sometimes, it reports: "There are no update for this version of Origin". And I definitelly sure that I am running SR4.

I know it's difficulte to figure out the reason. If nobody else complaining this issue, just let it go.

Thanks
Larry
