Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8G
Operating System: Win XP

I am searching for an opportunity to fit a Gaussian distribution function on experimental data but I can't find such a function in Origins non-linear-fitting menu. Can anybody help?

Hi Bernd,


you find it under Analysis -> Fitting -> Fit Single / Multi peak
There you find many different peak shapes and their properties.

Hi Quirin,
thank you for your hint. The problem is, that I am not searching for the Gaussian DENSITY function but rather for the Gaussian DISTRIBUTION function.

Hi Bernd:

You can integrate the density function. Here is an example to do integration in curve fitting, and the integrand is Gaussian density function.
