Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 SR6 Operating System: Vista
Hi,
Some Origin setups have wmf files set to placeable in OIMG.ini, some set to 0 and some have no entries for placeable. Exactly how could these have been set?
Thanks,
Cheers,

This INI file is only in a User Files Folder and contains a record of the last settings used in graphic export for each file type and will be the default settings when an export does NOT ask for options. (If the user has never exported a particular graph type and does not ask for options, then internal defaults are used.)
If a user has NOT done a WMF export, then there will be no [WMF] section and no 'Placeable' entry, otherwise the entry reflects the state of the checkbox when the user exported: [WMF] Placeable=1 (The checkbox was checked) [WMF] Placeable=0 (The checkbox was NOT checked)
While newer Origins (8.X) still record this information to that INI, export settings now come from internal defaults when first used, or theme files on subsequent use. |

Hi Greg,
Thanks for reply. This follows, and explains the odd user that has this setting - when manually saving .wmf I believe the default placeable is checked when perhaps it should be unchecked.
The actual problem manifests itself as follows :
Origin app will batch save multiple .wmf files of (similar) graphs all via code with no manual intervention. The first wmf file is appropriately sized. All subsequent ones are vertically squashed. Just through trial and error and luck I came across the setting (comparing all files across clients where for one (!) all wmf files saved okay) in OIMG.ini but this never occurred as there was no code to set this. If there is no [wmf] section then default was to create placeable files (poss first isn't placeable??) which for our clients doesn't work well. I'm not sure why the first graph saves okay.
At least there's a fix.
Cheers,
