Hello,
I seem to have some silly problem with simple plotting of multiple datasets: whenever I try to plot using Multi-Curve Stack function, I am getting a message that says "Please select an XYrange of input data". I have no idea why, nor how to avoid it. Doesn't matter if I mark my data by columns or insert it manually, I still cannot proceed. Funnily enough, Multi-Curve Stack Lines by Y Offset function works perfectly well. Only this is not what I need. Any advice?

Hi Rafal,
Not sure what procedure how you tried to create a Stack graph, but if your worksheet columns are organized as XYYY... or XYXYXY..., highlight these columns, and choose "Plot: Multi-Curve: Stack" menu, then you should be able to get the Stack graph from such that your Y columns (associated with X columns at left of Y's) are selected in the "Input" field in the "plotstack" dialog box. It seems in this dialog, the intended XY pairs are not specified in the "Input" field in the dialog.
If you want to specify the columns after this dialog appeared as input, you can press the black small triangle button at the right end of "Input" field, choose "Select Columns", choose Y columns of your choice in the Dataset Browser.
If I misunderstood something regarding your situation, please let me know.

Hi Hideo,
I have done both these things - highlighting the columns (I use XYYY for my data) and the manual insertion. The message appears as soon as I open the dialog window. The names of worksheet/columns in the input fields are actually correct. It's like the program didn't want to recognise that fact.
Also, I tried the other Multi-Curve tools and they all work fine - it's just that one that I actually need that plays around.

Hi Rafal,
Hmmmm.... Do your columns have special characters like ( , ) , @ , % , ", etc.? In some case such special characters fooled and screwed up Origin to identify the names of the columns. What are the column (long and short) names? If you remove such special characters, if there, from the column names, does it start working okay? If this is not the case, can you send your project file to Origin Tech support by the way described at:

Hi Hideo,
I have tried your suggestions. Although my column names do not have any special signs, it turns out that if I leave the short names as default (i.e. as letters), the problem disappears. No idea why, but it is good enough for me.
