Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.5
Operating System:Windows 7

Hi there,

This is likely to be the most stupid question I will ask today so here goes:

How do I calculate the square root of a set of numbers in a column?

To do this in Excel it is simple "=SQRT(A1)" Can this be done in origin as I'm not keen on exporting into excel just to import back into origin to produce graphs.

Many thanks

Hi,

You can use the Set Column Values tool (highlight the destination column (say column C), right-click, and choose "Set Column Values" shortcut), and enter the formula like (supposing e.g., that column B is the source column):
sqrt(col(B))

Hope this is what you are looking for.
