Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:

I am using OriginPRO 8.1 on XP Operating System.

I have 2 data sets- which are 2 curves,
a typical shape of a curve is attached below.

I want to compare if the 2 curves have identical profile.
The shapes have to be statistically similar, but absolute intensities may differ.
How do i do this?
Thanks in advance

Hi nzb109,

Not completely sure, but if you normalize two curves first, then performing "Compare Datasets" feature for a pair of fitting results may give you the judgement. To do so, you can:

1) Normalize two curves (e.g., by height) so that they could have the same model.
2) Fit two (normalized) curves individually using the same fitting function.
3) Choose "Analysis: Fitting: Compare Datasets" menu to run the test.

How about that?
