I'm trying to insert Anstrom in axis title.
I tried character map, which failed.
Please show me how to do it.
Thank you in advance.

The contents of your label could be something like

Thickness (\(197))

This is because 197 is the ASCII for the angstrom character.

If the symbol you want is (cap A topped with an 'o'), then character map works fine for me in Origin 5 and 6. Choose the font you want and hilite character #0197 (row 6, column 6 in character map). Click on the Select button and then the Copy button. (That copies the character to the clipboard.) Then go to Origin, double click on the axis title and place the cursor where you want to insert the symbol. Use the key combination Ctrl+V to insert the symbol. You may have to try a few different fonts to get it to look like you want.

I hope this helps,
Mike

Hello,

I usually use times new roman as my font, and I am not sure how things may change if you use a different font.

Given that, you can hold down the key, and then type 0197, and release the . The angstrom symbol should appear. Note--you have to use the number pad for this, the numbers on the top of your keyboard will not work.

Good luck, email if you have questions.

Matt
