Hi Biene,

If you have your data in Origin exactly like you have it there in Excel, you can:

1. Select the data and go to Plot > 3D Surface > Color Map Surface.

2. In the dialog box, you want to be sure that you specify Y Values in to be “1st row in selection” from the dropdown list, and X Values in “1st column in selection”. You can then specify your X, Y, and Z titles (if you are unable to edit them, make sure the check box to the right is unchecked). Click OK

--> You should get a graph similar to the one you got with Excel.

Excel had plotted your blank cells with a value of 0, Origin will simply leave empty cells out of the plot, so if you wanted them to show as 0, you will have to fill them with 0's.

Also, to set the color scale in Origin to the way you had it in Excel, you can double click anywhere on your surface plot, and it will open the Plot Details dialog. If you go to the Colormap/Contours tab and click on the Level column header, you can specify the settings of your color scale. To mimic the color scale you had in Excel you can specify "# Minor Levels" as 7, "# Minor Levels" as 0, and make sure the From and To values are correct

Let me know if you run into any problems with those steps.

Hi Matthew!

Thanks a lot! You´re the best! Got it!

Just one more question for interest. How can I make the colors "flowing" or "molten" with each other?
for ex.:
from yellow to red not like: bright yellow, yellow, dark yellow, bright red...

Greetings
Maja

Hi,

There are a lot of ways to adjust what colors are used. Under the Colormap/Contours tab in the Plot Details Dialog you can click on any color shown in the Fill... column and change the color used for that level.

Furthermore, you can click on the Fill... column header. In the new dialog that appears you can select from various color palettes, or create your own color scale.

Hope that helps
