Dear Origin guys,
I need to fit a double peak formed by a convolution of one Lorentzian peak and one Breit-Wigner-Fano(BWF) line shape.
I need to perform the same fit on many different set of data, so I need to use a labtalk compatible function.
Could you please suggest me the best way to do that?

Hi Matteo,
Origin provides a built-in BWF function, is this function what you want?
To fit two peaks once, you can do replica fitting.
To perform same fitting on multiple dataset, you can use batch processing.

Hi guys,
I think I'm having the same problem as Matteo. I need to fit a BWF and several Lorentzians to the one spectrum.
I can already fit several Lorentzians, or fit the BWF, but I can not do both at the same time.
When I enter into non-linear curve fitting I can't select the 'replica' setting (it is there, but won't let me click on it). What am I doing wrong? I hope you guys can help.

Hi,
If you want fit several Lorentz peaks and a BWF peak at same time, I will suggest you use Peak Analyzer. About how to use Peak Analyzer to fit multiple peaks, please refer to this video tutorial:

Please note only peak functions can be used to do peak fitting in Peak Analyzer.
You can change the peak function for individual peak in the Peak Fit Parameter dialog, see below screenshot:
But I can’t reproduce the problem about Replica settings disabled, please first make sure the fitting function you selected in the Function Selection page of NLFit dialog is a peak function.
To check if a function is a peak function, you can open the Fitting Function Organizer to check if the Peak Function check box has been selected.
If you still have problem, please let me know.
