Origin Ver: 8.1
Operating System: Windows 7 (64-Bit)

Hi All,

I have been working on quite a large script linked to a cutom menu in the toolbar that allows users to analyse data from tests, compare data, scale data, and export various results in a range of formats.

Everything works perfectly when I use the 32-bit version of Origin installed on my computer but when I use the 64-bit version, everything is very "dodgy". Some menu functions do not work at all. Also when trying to export PDF diocuments (especially multi-page) the 64-bit version grinds the entire system to a halt, forcing a hard reset.

Does anyone know why this would be happening (Assuming no issues with the script files as they run flawlessly on the 32-bit version) and a possible fix?

Thanks,
Mulvenna

Hi Again,

I realize there is probably no fix for this. Probably a memory issue or something (I'm not exactly the most technical).

But does anyone know of a command that can return the program being used (32-bit / 64-bit)? This would at least allow me to stop the script and warn the user if the wrong version is being used.

Kind Regards,
C. Mulvenna

Hi, Mulvenna

Usually there should not be difference for scripts used in 32-bit Origin or 64-bit Origin. I will send you email for more details for what you did in your script so that we can identify the problem
