fitting a part of a curve

while in origin 7 the data selectors do not set the part of the curve which I want to fit as previous version?

You need to provide more details. What kind of fit are you performing? What steps are you taking? Are you comparing with 6.1?

The behavior of the Data Markers (Data Selector tool) should not be different in either version. Do they behave correctly using one dataset versus a different set of data? Is your X data sorted?
