I have a ton of data that is laid out as xy plots. Each xy plot has been taken at a different temperature at regular times. All of the x data is the same so I have successfully imported the data into a worksheet as 1st column as x, followed by 94 columns of y. I would really like a surface plot of this data, but the thing causing the issue is that the change in temperature is not consistent between files. Due to the nature of the experiment, the temp profile has a slow start and slow finish so data at the beginning and end are closer together regarding the temperature change.

So basically, I have a large worksheet of numbers in which the 1st column is x and the 1st row is y but the y spacing is fairly random, and I need a surface plot. I've been playing with the xyz-gridding dialogue but have not made much progress.

Any ideas? Thanks

What you need to do is to make a waterfall plot, see this

Thanks. I've been using this already and it works...to a point but there are gradients that I need to extract that I can't get to with this kind of graph. It is exactly what I need, but I need each trace connected via a surface.

Sorry, I should not have suggested waterfall plot, you can also make 3D surface plot from the same worksheet data arrangement, using the sheet as a virtual matrix.
