I'm using Origin to carry out non-linear fitting of an integral function; however, the fitted curve has segments that are offset alternately above and below the observed data, typically not by very much and apparently the segments are of random length. The offsets are real because the reported residuals match the segments. Clearly, the fit is not accurate.

Can anyone advise why this might be occurring and how to fix it. I'm happy to send the file if necessary.
