Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2018 pro 64 bit Operating System: WIn 7
I am struggling a bit to get the automatic colour incrementing thing in grouped line plots to work the way I seem to remember from previous versions. The default colour sequence used by a high contrast, primary colour type sequence (black, red, greem, blue etc.). Now it is a pastel/subtle incrementing thing. I can use the drop down box to choose other sequences, but these are all similarly subtle (not good for A/B comparisons of data sets). The colour palette dialog still has this sequence.
(It occurred to me that I might have somehow set up my previous origins with the high contrast thing and have lost this setting, but I don't remember)

Hi Castiel,
Yes, I could imagine shifting them round, but it was not clear to me was what sets the default colour lists.
At one point actually appeared to me that there were two different colour dialogs because of the different availability of palettes (If you make a line plot and go to the plot properties...line tab...colour... then the 'single' tab had a high contrast colour list, but the 'by plot' tab is more like a decorators paint catalog! If I made a group and went to the 'colour increment' setting, only the smooth lists were there, not the high contrast one)
What I now realise is that there is a tab in the 'theme organiser' dialog which sets which colour lists are shown in different contexts. I already had a high contrast list called 'Border color list (user)' which was only set for the borders, but which I can now select for line colours etc.
https://www.originlab.com/doc/Quick-Help/Change-System-ColorList
Weird thing is that now I have selected this once, these user defined lists now appear as an options in other contexts where it previously was not visible. 'Pumpkin patch' etc. and the 'system colour list' were there before, but only now is Border list (User) an option.

Did you realise that you can right-click for more information when editing color increment details in plot details dialog? Also in Increment Editor.

Ha, no I did not... ;-)
So on the same component (colour bar) on the the same dialog (e.g. plot properties...group..line)
1 Left click (get 'increment list, palettes' popup) 2 Click the '...' button next to the colour bar (popup 'increment editor' 3 Right click colour bar (get pop up with options to load themes and increment lists)
Well, it sort of serves me right for not clicking around enough...but when one object already has two GUI control methods I wasn't expecting a third.
Thanks!
