How can I plot the parametric contour plot from three (m x n) matrices.

Hi,

It works, but I want to use the contour plot option available in origin.

Please see the two attached pictures.




I am looking to make contour plot in the following format from three X,Y and Z matrices.

Hi,

I apologize I misunderstood you at first place. To make contour plot from X, Y, Z matrices, first convert three matrices into x, y, z columns in worksheet individually. Use menu Matrix -> Convert to Worksheet, set Method to XYZ columns in the dialog. Click OK to convert one matrix into x,y,z columns where the z column is what we need next.


After converting 3 matrices, then use menu Worksheet -> Append Worksheet to combine the three Z columns into one sheet. set column designation to x,y,z and make contour plot.

Hi,

I tried the way you described. However, it looks like, by converting the matrices into vectors, it looses the parametric information.

Following contour graph I obtained by Matrix -> Convert to Worksheet method,



On the other hand, the correct contour plot is shown below. This graph has been obtained by parametric 3D plot and setting the view along z-axis.



The problem with the second method is that resolution of labels are poor. Also, layout setting doesn't scaled properly to the "fit page to layer".

Please, let me know if you have any suggestion.
