Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: OriginPro 2026 (64-bit) 10.3.0.180

Is it possible to connect categories across different worksheets?
When I am plotting e.g. a bar chart of different worksheets with categories put on the x-axis, categories with the same name but in different worksheets are treated as different.

Thanks

Yes, u can use categorical columns to specifiy exact order you want on x axis
Visit https://docs.originlab.com/tutorials/categorical-values-ordering/#Share_Categorical_Values to see more info.

E.g. Set the X data's corresponding column in worksheet as categorical.
Then Categories label row will appear in worksheet.
Double click the cell to modify the category orders. By default it's unsorted so it will be based on appearance order.
E.g. U can check Customize Categories checkbox and set your fixed order.

After set it in one worksheet, click the categories cell and Ctrl+C.
Then highlight other worksheet's X column header, Ctrl+V to apply the same category order in other sheet.

Then plot column/bar will use the same order on X axis.

Thanks, Snow
