Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 7.5
Operating System: WinXP
Is it possible to fit just one curve to multiple data sets? For instance, data sets A, B, and C are actually 3 replicates of the same thing. Rather than fitting a curve for each, essentially having curve A, B, and C, I want to fit one curve to all the points. Is that possible? |

I copy all different data sets into one to achieve the purpose you mentioned. For instance, paste sets B after A, then C after B. Subsequently, you may fit the combined data sets as you usually do. but maybe there are some better approaches to resolve this type problem.

Hi,
In 7.5, one can add multiple datasets in the NLSF tool Dataset page and then share all parameters by double-clicking the parameter names in the Share window on the same page. This will result in all datasets being fit simultaneously with one set of parameters, but will still result in multiple fit curves for the result.
Fitting replicate data is much easier in version 8 which was just announced:

You can download the demo and try. In the new NLFit tool, on the Data Selection page, one can set the Multi-Data Fit Mode control to Concatenate, and that will internally combine all the raw, replicate data and fit them as a single dataset yielding a single fit curve and single set of results in the new Origin 8 report sheet format.
